CIRTA is launching football referee training programs designed to elevate your officiating skills. Whether you're a seasoned referee or just starting out, our upcoming courses will prepare you to excel in interscholastic football officiating.
CIRTA Instructional Hours Requirement
CIRTA requires all referees to complete the # regular season training items. To be eligible for playoffs, 18 hours of instruction is required each season (6 hours of Regular Season + 12 hours of other training).
Regular Season Required Training

CIRTA General Meeting/Rules Inter-operation (3 hours)

NFHS High school Rules Test (2 hours)
-
NFHS Concussion Course (NFHS Learn) (1 hour)

NFHS Sportsmanship Course (NFHS Learn) (1 hour)

CIRTA Pre-Season Scrimmages (up to two may count towards your hours) (Ref or Evaluator) (3 hours)

Biweekly calls (1-2 hours)
The three items in red are required. To be eligible for playoffs, referees must complete the 6 hours above and any combination from the list below for a total of 18.

Other instruction may be accepted as instructional hours per approval by the CIRTA leadership team. Please contact leadership with information about your instruction.
